Experience the best of Bermuda's golf courses whether you arrive by cruise ship or airplane. Here are just a few of the popular courses that golfers enjoy when visiting Bermuda.
PORT ROYAL GOLF COURSE
Play a round on the recently renovated Port Royal Golf Course, with its lush TifEagle greens, cutting-edge irrigation system and sweeping water views from nearly every hole. Original design team member Robert Rulewich spearheaded the $14.5 million makeover ahead of the 2009/2010 PGA Grand Slam of Golf (the first of five consecutive years the event was held at Port Royal). The signature 16th hole is considered one of the premier par-3 holes in golf, offering a clear shot across the ocean to the green, which is perched on a coastal peninsula. Port Royal Golf Course also has a driving range with ocean views and practice distances for golfers of all levels. |
TUCKER'S POINT GOLF CLUB
Distinctly Bermudian in style and character, with an uncompromising emphasis on privacy and luxury, Tucker’s Point Golf Club is part of one of the finest resort communities in the world. World-class in its ambition and scope, it is set on more than 200 acres of rolling hillsides in Tucker’s Town and overlooks a glorious turquoise sea. The 18-hole, par-70 Tucker’s Point Golf Course is Bermuda’s premier golf experience – as scenic as it is challenging. |
OCEAN VIEW GOLF COURSE
Bermuda's premier nine-hole golf course With a four-star Golf Digest rating and coral hued scenery to flank your sight lines, Ocean View Golf Course offers a lesson in the game’s enduring lure and Bermuda’s timeless charm. It takes just seven minutes to escape the bustle of busy Hamilton City to find yourself high on the picturesque bluff of Ocean View’s first tee. Located a mere ‘up and down’ chip off the North Shore in Devonshire, it is easily the closest of any of the island’s nine golf courses to Bermuda’s capital city. Yes, proper golfing attire is a must on our course (soft spikes only please) – but you’ll find us to be neither staid nor ‘stuffy.’ |
TURTLE HILL GOLF CLUB
Perfect your swing against a backdrop of turquoise waves and lush terrain at Turtle Hill Golf Club, located at the Fairmont Southampton resort on Bermuda’s South Shore. This 2,684-yard course is a three-time winner of Golf Digest’s “Best Places to Play Golf.” Turtle Hill has 18 formidable par-3 holes, most with ocean views, as well as a variety of bunkers and two water hazards. Rent clubs and purchase golf attire at the full-service pro shop. For lunch or a beer before, during or after your round, head to the Golf Hut Halfway House on the 10th hole. |
BELMONT HILLS GOLF CLUB
Players teeing off at Bermuda’s breathtaking Belmont Hills Golf Course face two very different challenges: getting through 18 holes in as few shots as possible and making each moment last forever. The course is a magnificently contoured showcase of Bermuda’s natural beauty. Featuring 6,100 yards of strategically laid out bunkers, multi-tiered greens and slender fairways, this world-class layout offers a challenging test for players of all handicaps. Panoramic views of bustling Hamilton Harbor and the Great Sound provide an inspiring accompaniment to every shot. The 17th and 18th holes in particular are among the finest finishing holes in the game. One of the unique characteristics of this Bermuda resort’s golf course is the utilization of multiple water hazards, which is unusual for a Bermudian course. Two expansive ponds complement the dramatic landscape, with an automatic irrigation system keeping tees, fairways and greens - including Bermuda’s only double green (at 14,000 square feet) - in peak condition. Hundreds of trees have been planted or relocated to shape and define the fairways. |
